Scope and Contents

From the Series: Series IV includes every bound volume found in the original collection. These consist of checkbooks ranging from 1897 to 1927, ledgers containing personal and cash expenses such as taxes and bills, ledgers containing business investments and exchanges, and binders of contacts and outgoing personal and business letters from 1916 to 1926. Also included in this series are blank ledgers and smaller checkbooks containing Synnott’s personal expenses. A later accretion, box 27, contains carbon copies of Synnott's outgoing correspondence. There are 8 volumes of carbon copies, dated from 1884 through 1911.
