Between 1980 and 2014, Wendy Pfeffer wrote a variety of children's books, stories, and activities that are included in this collection. Numerous original draft manuscripts, professional correspondences, and copies of the final published works are all included in the collection, which has been organized according to publication dates.

Abstract

This compilation of children's books, stories, and activities was written by Wendy Pfeffer between 1980 and 2014. The collection, which is arranged by publication dates, contains a large number of original draft manuscripts, professional correspondence, and copies of the final published works. The collection emphasizes the path an idea takes from conception to realization and eventual publication.

Arrangement

Box 1: contains short stories and children’s activities. Many of which had been published in children’s magazines. Boxes 2-6: contain multiple children’s books written by the author. The folders contain original draft manuscripts, correspondence to publishers, editors, and illustrators, and the final published copy of each book. Boxes 7-8: contain various media, including photographs, audio tapes, and computer disks containing manuscript drafts. Boxes 9-11: contain black/white and/or color proofs of the books from the publishers.

Bibliography

Award-winning author Wendy Pfeffer wrote two books for adults in addition to a number of children's books. Her main goal was to teach kids about various science concepts through stories they could easily understand. From 1950 to 1953, she worked as a first-grade teacher at Pitman elementary school. Additionally, from 1961 through 1991, she co-founded, oversaw, and taught at the Pennington Presbyterian Nursery School. She has directed seminars for writers of all ages throughout her writing career.
